Caithness Glass Giftware

Caithness Glass was established in 1961 in the far north of Scotland, and originally produced coloured glasses and bowls in contemporary and popular styles, which, in 1968 earned them a Royal Warrant from Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother. The following year Caithness Glass produced their first limited edition paperweight ‘The Planets Set,’ designed by Colin Terris.

These first paperweights by Caithness Glass were soon followed by other abstract, ground-breaking designs that made Caithness Glass one of the leaders in modern paperweight design.  Today, the paper-weights are individually hand-crafted to the highest of standards in Caithness Glass’ Perth studios, where the glass makers combine the finest design and traditional skills to create unique pieces of art of the highest quality.
