John Beswick was founded in 1892 by James Wright Beswick and his sons John and Gilbert in Longton, Stoke-on-Trent. The company continued to grow, and in 1934, the introduction of high fired bone china meant that they could begin to produce high quality porcelain figurines, for which John Beswick are most famous today. One of the most famous collections John Beswick produced was the Beatrix Potter range, which saw the well love characters from the story books reproduced as high quality figurines, which although are no longer manufactured, are still popular today with collectors.

Today, John Beswick produces a number of different collections of animal figurines, including ‘Farmyard’, ‘Horses’ and ‘Dogs.’ China Chaps now sell all of the current John Beswick figurine ranges in our Snodland store.
