Minton’s was established in 1793 by Thomas Minton in Stoke-On-Trent, and is one of the country’s oldest and best known manufacturers of earthenware, and from 1798, bone china. Minton first made standard domestic tableware in blue transfer printed or painted patterns, including the Willow Pattern which is still very popular today. The Minton factory was the most popular supply source in the 19th century of made to order dinnerware for embassies and for heads of state across the world.
Minton continues today to make specialised bone china tableware under Royal Doulton, including the popular ‘Haddon Hall’ and ‘Riverton’ lines. They also produce a number of giftware ranges, which include products such as Vases and Jewellery Boxes in the popular Monkey Tree and Orchid patterns.
