Thomas China

Originally "Porzellanfabrik Thomas & Ens," Thomas China was founded in 1904 by Fritz Thomas in Marktredwitz, Upper Franconia. Thomas china has been known for its design-oriented and uncomplicated tableware. Thomas China was predominantly shaped by Scandinavian design up until the 1980’s, with designs such as the ‘Scandic’ design by Hertha Bengtson winning the Faeriza Gold Medal. At the end of the eighties Thomas China began using more London-inspired designs. At that time, the "Trend" service from design duo Queensberry/Hunt became one of Thomas China’s major sellers. In the nineties, Thomas China became more about new, simple, functional design, and today is world renowned for being an innovative design conscious brand.
